Garbled Emails Gmail IMAP Apple Mail

Garbled Email with Gmail IMAP in Apple MailIf you use GMail IMAP with Apple Mail, you might have experienced the dreaded garbled emails. This problem occurs when you move email messages to different folders. How do you know you have this problem? When you click on an email to view it, attached images and the mail headers are garbled; eg, you see all kinds of strange characters and the attached images are not viewable. This is a bug; not sure if it’s Apple Mail or Gmail, or both. You can read more the Gmail / Apple Mail garbled message issues here. The fix is simple: restart Apple Mail. But that is pretty clumsy. A better workaround is this: In Apple Mail, go to Mailbox > Rebuild. This is a workaround, not a fix. Let’s hope Apple and Google  can put aside their feud in order to help their users :)

Google Toolbar Breaks Firefox Autofill

The Google Toolbar breaks the autofill function in Firefox Browser. I use Firefox to autofill form items and passwords and recently noticed it would stop working after 10-30 minutes. To fix the problem, disable Google Toolbar. For more information on this issue, see the following url: http://www.google.pl/support/forum/p/Toolbar/thread?tid=143ee6c2dfa45a94&hl=en

Facebook Exporter for iPhoto: Review

Facebook Exporter for iPhotoThe Facebook Exporter for iPhoto makes is VERY easy to create image galleries on Facebook. I’ve never had much luck with the built-in photo gallery tool on Facebook; it works about 50% of the time and is buggy the rest of the time. Yesterday I discovered there is a Facebook Exporter app for iPhoto.  Once you install it in iPhoto, lauch iPhoto, and select Export > Facebook (tab). You can create a new gallery or add photos to an existing gallery.

THIS is a GREAT free piece of software! Click here to download Facebook Exporter of iPhoto.
