Content Managment System: Do You Need it for Your Site?
The following is a simple test to determine if you and your website could benefit from a Content Management System.
- Do you often need to change the content on your website?
- Do you often need to add NEW content to your website?
- Do you need the ability to easily add new pages to your site or to update your existing pages?
- Does your website contain more than 10 pages?
- Do you need to add interactive functions to your website? For example, do you need a photo gallery, forum, events calendar, shopping cart, or download center on your website?
If you answered yes to ANY of the questions, you might be a good candidate for a Content Management System.
Many of our website clients want the ability to easily add, edit, update, and delete text, images, and pages on their website. At WriteNowDesign, we use the Joomla Content Management System (CMS) to help our clients easily achieve these goals.
A website content management system (CMS) is a computer system used to manage and control a large or small, dynamic collection of web material (HTML documents and their associated images). A CMS facilitates document control, auditing, editing, and management. The beauty of a CMS is that it does not require the CMS user to be an HTML expert. Furthermore, it allows the CMS user to easily update web pages using a simple web browser interface.
