Joomla Plugin Review: Password Protect a Page
Joomla Password Protect a Page Plugin: MosPasswort
I had a unique request from a client. Instead of protecting Joomla content using Joomla’s user registration method, the client wanted to password protect a specific page, and he didn’t want to require that the user register. He just wanted to use a default password to access a specific page.
I did a Google search and immediately found MosPasswort Joomla plugin. This handy and very specific plugin allows you to password protect Joomla content items (it does not allow you to protect components). Once you install the plugin, you simply enter {password} in any Joomla page that you want to protect with a password. Then, when a user attempts to access a password protected page, they are presented with a password screen.
This is a very nice component and does exactly what it is designed to do. Note that you must be using php5 on your web server or you need to make a small modification to the passwort.php file.
