Mac : Finder : Custom Folder Icons

Custom Folder Icons in Mac FinderI just read about an easy way to create custom icons for folders in the Mac Leopard finder. Creating a custom folder icon makes it much easier to quickly find the folder in a list of folders that all look the same.To create a custom folder icon

  1. In the Finder, find the image or folder or application icon you want to copy. You can use any image as a folder icon, or you can use an existing application icon.
  2. Click the image or application or folder icon to select it.
  3. Click Command + C (Edit > Copy) to copy the icon.
  4. From the Finder, select the folder whose icon you want to change and click Command + I (File > Get Info).
    Get Info Box
  5. Click the folder icon image at the top of the Get Info screen and then click Command + P (Edit > Paste).
The folder icon will change to the icon you copied.
  6. Now the folder will show a custom icon, making it easy to find in the Finder
