Mac: Use Spotlight to Launch Apps

Are you a person who prefers to use the keyboard instead of the mouse. Spotlight, on Max OS X, makes a great application launcher. You can use Spotlight to launch any application right from your keyboard, and you don’t have to remember any commands.

To use Spolight to launch an application:

  1. Push Command (?) + Spacebar to activate Spotlight.
  2. Begin typing the name of the application you want to launch; for example, “Dr” for DreamWeaver. Spotlight will list items that begin with those letters.
  1. Use the Up or Down arrow key to make your selection.
  2. Once the application is selected, push the Return key. Mac launches the application.
  3. That’s it.

The beauty of this method is that it works no matter where you are. You can be in any application and lauch another applicaiton.
