Review: FireFTP FTP Plugin for Firefox
FireFTP and a full-featured, secure, cross-platform ftp tool. AND it’s FAST and FREE!
Of course, there are several free ftp clients for Windows, but it’s not that easy finding a good, free, ftp tool for the Mac. Several of my website clients use Macs and they need an easy-to-use ftp tool that’s easy to install and configure. The FireFTP plugin for FireFox is perfect. And you can install it on Windows, Mac, or any flavor or UNIX/LINUX.
FireFTP is very easy to install. Go to the following URL to download it:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/684
Once it downloads, it will automatically install on Firefox. After you restart your browser, you can access it from the Tools menu. In order to connect to an ftp server, you will have to configure it with the following information:
- Host: This is the domain name or IP address of your ftp server; for example: 192.160.1.6 orĀ yourdomain.com. Contact your website host or webmaster to get this info.
- Login (ftp user name)
- Password
Like most FTP tools, you can configure as many ftp server connections as you like.
