I just upgraded WordPress to 2.8.4. It was so easy I started to giggle…then I found a problem: The Post Tag function no longer worked.After a moment of panic, I search google and found the answer: I had three plugins that needed an update. It’s possible that one of these was preventing the WordPress Post Tag function from working. But even after I updated the plugins, the post tag function still did not work.

Next, I deactivated all plugins and then tested the post tag function again. It worked! One by one, I turned on the plugins until they were all back on. And it still worked!

Not sure why I had to deactivate and then activate all the plugins, but the combination of the plugin updates plus deactivating and activating the plugins did the trick.

Bottom line: WordPress is a GREAT piece of software, but don’t upgrade unless you have too. Too much chance of creating a big headache for yourself.
