AcyMailing Newsletter Extension for Joomla

Review: AcyMailing Newsletter Extension for Joomla

February 10, 2012 by Pat Fortino

AcyMailing Newsletter Extension for JoomlaThe AcyMailing extension for Joomla 1.7 and 2.5 is an excellent newsletter option if you choose use Joomla, instead of a mailing service, to handle your mailing lists. I have tried other newsletter extensions for Joomla, but I especially like AcyMailing because it’s very easy to use. Within a few minutes, I was able to understand how to use it. Many of these tools are very complex. With AcyMailing, it’s very intuitive.

But AcyMailing is more that intuitive: it has all the features you’d expect from a newsletter component. But it has some features that are absolutely necessary for any successful newsletter tool:

  • Mail Queue: the mail Queue allows you to specify how many email to send out in a time period. This is VERY important since most web hosts have restrictions on how many email you can send out in an hour. For example, hostgator restricts you to 500 emails per hour. If you have a list of several thousand, the AcyMailing Queue setting allows you to specify how many emails to send out per hour. That way you won’t get in trouble with your hosting company.
  • Newsletter Templates: Creating a nice newsletter is difficult if you don’t have the skills or time to design a newsletter. The included templates in AcyMailing will help get you started.
  • Include Joomla articles in your newsletter. With the click of a button, you can create a link to any article on your site.
  • Attachments It’s easy to add attachments to your newsletter
