Joomla User Account Screen

How to Delete a Joomla Super Administrator

February 7, 2013 by Pat Fortino

If you have any Joomla Super Administrator accounts in Joomla that you don’t use or want, you should delete them for security reasons. However, if you have ever tried to delete a Joomla Super Administrator, you will find out that you can’t. You must first change the account group to any group other than Super User.

In order to delete a Joomla Super User account:

  1. From the Joomla Admin menu, select Site > User Manager.
  2. Click the Super User account you want to delete.
Joomla opens the user account screen.

  3. In the Group list, select Registered User and then click Save.
Joomla saves the account information and takes you back to the User Manager screen.
  4. Click the checkbox for the account you want to delete and then click Delete.

Surfing around stumbleupon.com I noticed your site book-marked as:
Delete a Joomla Super Administrator | WriteNowDesign.
Now I am assuming you bookmarked it yourself and wanted to ask if social book-marking gets you a bunch of
visitors? I’ve been thinking of doing some social bookmarking for a few of my websites but wasn’t certain
if it would generate any positive results. Thank you.

Hi, I did not mark my site on stumbleupon; must be somebody else did. But you can’t ignore social media like facebook, twitter, google +. etc.
