If you run an online store, a terms and conditions document is very important. The terms and condition document is a set of rules and guidelines that a user must agree to when they use your website and online store. Also, many payment gateways, such as Authorize.net, require that you post a terms and condition document on your website. It’s very easy to add terms and conditions to WooCommerce…if you know where to look.
The following procedure explains how to add terms and conditions in WooCommerce.
- Create a terms and conditions document: go to Pages > Add New and create a terms and conditions document. Click here for a free Add Terms and Conditions WooCommerce document.
If you use the example document, make sure you replace the following variables with your company information: {your company}, {your email}, {your address}. - Save and publish the Terms and Conditions page.
- Specify your terms and conditions page in the WooCommerce settings:
Go to Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Checkout - In the Terms and conditions page list, select the terms and conditions page you just created.
- Click Save to save the WooCommerce settings.
- To test your terms and conditions link, add a product to the cart and then go to the checkout page. You will see the Terms and Conditions link and checkbox at the bottom of the cart page.

Actually the setting location for Terms & Conditions is changed in newer versions of WordPress.
– You can find it now under Appearance > Customize
– Select WooCommerce
– Select Checkout
– Select your Terms and Conditions page from the drop-down menu
– Click the Publish button.

1. I have disabled this required line on the Checkout page: “I have read and agree to the website terms and conditions”
2. But, now an error message appears after clicking the Proceed to PayPal button.
It states “Please read and accept the terms and conditions to proceed with your order”
3. How do I remove this error message, and not disable all the other required checkout field error messages? IE Name, address, etc
4. PS The “terms and conditions” required line is active now because customers cannot checkout unless they check the acceptance box.

I’m not sure, but I would guess that paypal requires that the customer checks the terms and condition. As a result, you’re getting an error message by turning it off.
