A client called me last week to tell me his WordPress blog pages had AMP errors in Google Search Console. This post explains how to Fix WordPress AMP Validation Errors.
I use AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) for all my WordPress sites that have blogs on them. AMP pages are stripped down versions of your regular web pages, without javascript, widgets, maps, etc. Normally, Google displays AMP pages, if they are available on your site, to mobile users.
My error corrections assume that you have the following plugins installed on your WordPress site:
Every Post Must Have a Featured Image
This one is very easy to fix. Make sure that every blog post has a Featured Image assigned to it. It doesn’t matter if your theme is configured to display featured images. The AMP theme will display the featured image.
Add Organization Name and Logo in Yoast Knowledge Graph & Schema.org
- From the WordPress dashboard, go to SEO > Search Appearance > Knowledge Graph & Schema.org
- Add your Organization Name and Logo.
Important: The logo cannot be .svg. It must be .png or .jpg.
