Use Joomla’s Save as Copy Feature to Quickly Build Your Menu

  1. From the Joomla Admin screen, select Menu > Main Menu (or whatever menu you are using).
  2. Click New.
    Joomla creates a new menu item.
  3. Click Select for Menu Item Type.
    Joomla displays the Select a Menu Type screen.

  4. Click Single Article.
    Joomla assigns Single Article to the Menu Item Type field.
  5. In the Menu Title field, enter a unique menu title.
  6. Click Select / Change for the Select Article field.

    Joomla displays a list of articles.
  7. Click the Article you want to link to.

  8. Click Save.
    Joomla saves the link and adds a Save as Copy button to the menu.
  9. Click Save as Copy.
  10. Enter a unique title for the menu item.
  11. Delete the text in the Alias field; the alias will be created from the Title automatically when you click Save.
  12. Verify that the menu item is a parent or a child of another menu item.
  13. Click Save.
  14. Repeat steps 7-11 until you have created all the menu links on your site.
