Joomla 1.7 has a handy new feature: Administrator approval of user registration. Now, with a simple setting, you can specify that the Joomla Administrator must approve a user registration.
Here’s how it works:
- From the Joomla Admin menu, select Users > User Manager.
The User Manager screen is displayed. - Click Options.
The Users Configuration screen is displayed.
- From the New User Account Activation list, select Admin.
- Click Save & Close.
Now, when a new user registers, the user will receive a verification email. Once the user clicks the verification link, the Joomla Administrator will receive an email stating that a new user needs to be approved.
IMPORTANT: The user will not be able to log in until the Administrator approves the registration.
